Vitamin B1

Vitamin B1, also known as “thiamine”, “thiamine”, or anti-neuritis, is one of the B vitamins. It is synthesized by fungi, microorganisms and plants. Animals and humans can only obtain it from food. Vitamin B1 is mainly found in the outer coat and germ of seeds. It is abundant in rice bran and bran, and is also extremely abundant in yeast. Thiamine is composed of a pyrimidine ring and a thiazole ring. It participates in glucose metabolism in the body and is a necessary substance for maintaining normal functions of nerve conduction, heart and gastrointestinal tract.


Application

1. Prevent and treat vitamin B1 deficiency and the beriberi or Wernickes encephalopathy caused by it. It is also used as an auxiliary treatment for peripheral neuritis, myocarditis, indigestion, congestive heart failure, etc.;

2. For vitamin B1 supplement: including patients with burns, fever, and long-term chronic infection;

3. Patients with malabsorption syndrome accompanied by hepatobiliary system diseases (such as alcoholism with cirrhosis), small intestinal diseases (such as celiac disease, persistent diarrhea, etc.), patients after gastrectomy, hyperthyroidism and hemodialysis;

Malnutrition caused by long-term parenteral nutrition or insufficient intake, heavy manual workers, pregnant women, and lactating women.
